Could we hear any more bad news? I look around everywhere, every day and see the fear in people’s eyes. And I have to admit, I also see it when I look in the mirror. But my husband said something to me this morning that was very insightful, and made me take pause. He pointed me to an article on Yahoo Finance and said, “Just read the last paragraph”, so I did.
And what it said was that we should use this time to realize all that we can say grace over. Look around. Do you have your health? Do you get to tuck your kids in at night? Do you look up and see the stars at night? Do you get to see the sun come up on another day? I do. And there is no price on any of these things…because they’re priceless.
And it made me realize that while we may be losing our savings, our retirements, our nest eggs and our ability to possibly retire when we wanted to…there’s not a thing we can do about it. And we’re all in it together. Together. So I vowed today to turn off the news that continually feeds into my office here at KGBTexas (which is hard, because we are a communications company). I’m going to continue to do great work for our clients, continue to run this company to the best of my ability, and to make choice of sound and strong leadership.
And I’m going to go home and make a list of all that I have to be thankful for. It should be a long list.
