Change can be good. I really believe that. I’m not saying it’s always FUN, but being a glass-half-full kinda gal, I try to see the positives in every situation.
For example, we’ve had some staff changes in the Houston office recently – two terrific PR professionals, both still young in their careers, accepted new positions on the client side and have moved on to other organizations. While I hate to see them go – they are both exceptional people and were a big part of making this office, and KGB, so vibrant and special – I also see this as a chance to look forward and focus on the positive opportunities that change can present.
The saying “where one door closes, another one opens” is very true, and applies to us here at KGB. We’ve already brought on board Account Coordinator Jenny Hoofnagle, who has hit the ground running. She brings a wealth of event planning experience, great organizational skills and outstanding writing abilities to the team. We’re still searching for the right person to fill the other position, but I know, without a doubt, that we will find him or her, and that this person will bring a whole new set of skills and experiences to KGB. That is what I believe, and in believing, I am positive it will happen.
Winston Churchill once said, “A pessimist sees the difficulty in every opportunity; an optimist sees the opportunity in every difficulty.” Guess that makes me an optimist then! Now I really have to go – I’m about to interview a potential candidate. Hey, maybe she’ll be “The One!” Fingers crossed!!
