Public relations and advertising can be fractured and fragmented industries. There are thousands of professionals doing their version of PR and advertising. They are done in ways that work for them, and hopefully they work for their clients.
Now there is a new set of rules that aren’t really rules. It may barely classify as guidelines. It’s social media.
Being social, the collective “we” determines what is important to focus on. The audience is no longer a passive participant. The audience talks back, telling us and even showing us what kind of message they want to hear. Our clients and our audiences are no longer consumers….they’re “prosumers.” They both produce and consume what is now considered news.
To that end, we’ve launched Communi-K, a new blog for KGBTexas Public Relations / Advertising. We want to use this platform to help further the evolution of social media, particularly in South Texas and for our clients and ourselves.
We plan to use this outlet to share some of the cutting edge concepts that, frankly, can be overwhelming. There is so much out there, yet we want to be the resource for what is happening globally, as well as locally in the ever-evolving realms of PR, advertising and marketing. We want to be on the forefront of social media used to truly help our clients not for the sake of saying we know how to do it.
We want to share great stuff with you and we want you to do the same. It’s a conversation now. We’re not just broadcasting. We’re receiving. Talk to you soon.

Welcome to the blogosphere. I am glad to see you finally decided to jump in the fray. I am thrilled that you finally have an outlet to share all your wonderful work. I am a fan of agencies that decide to think outside the box! Now the fun begins, write, edit, rinse, then repeat!
