I am a Foursquare freak! The site lets people tell their networks where they are and what they’re doing. It also tracks the places you go and gives you points. Each week, I battle it out with my pal Jennifer J. to see who can go more places on a weekly basis.
Then I learned about Please Rob Me. It’s a site that will keep me from broadcasting my location ever again. I could still use Foursquare, I think, and just not send my location out via Twitter or Facebook.
In the back of my head, I knew it had the potential to be dangerous. But this site brought it home to me. And that seems to be the point of the creators. They don’t want anyone to get burgled. But we do share a lot of information and it’s not always healthy.
