Not too long ago, I took the plunge and became an iPhone user. I have now transitioned from a scared, technology-fearing 25-year-old to an obsessed, more savvy (at least a little more) iPhone LOVER!
This piece of equipment truly has the power to change lives, or at least make them more interesting and convenient.
I also want to commend a fellow “tech-scared” friend and family member – my dad – who also decided to try the iPhone. This man can barely print a document on his PC let alone maneuver a piece of machinery made by Apple.
My parents were in town for a visit last week and we went through settings, apps, contacts, the whole nine yards. I think he really is getting it.
He’s not the only one trying to keep up with generational changes (and obsession) with technology. My family members – many of whom are over the age of 55 – are more active on social media sites than I am. What does this tell you?
Simply that technology is all around us and is constantly evolving to add convenience and fun to a whole new generation of embracers. We must be at the forefront of it or we (individuals and businesses) will be left behind. One should not fear change but embrace it. Or in my case, at least be open to it and take the necessary steps (sometimes baby) to see it through. Who knows? Maybe a “tweet” is in my future. Stay tuned.
